1. New in the World Sales Catalogue: THE NORTH ROAD by Carlos Chahine
We are happy to announce that mec film got the rights for Carlos Chahine’s award-winning short fiction THE NORTH ROAD (Tariq Ila Shimal / La route du Nord). The film tells the story of Karim, a man in his mid forties, who lives in France since his early teenage years. For the first time in many years he returns to Lebanon to transfer his father remains, who died during the war, from Beirut to his home village.

2. Swiss TV buys THE ONE MAN VILLAGE
Swiss Channel TSR acquired the broadcast rights for Simon El Habre’s THE ONE MAN VILLAGE (Lebanon 2008). Transmission will be on December, 18th , 2009

3. THE ONE MAN VILLAGE and THE NORTH ROAD win in Spain
Simon El Habre’s THE ONE MAN VILLAGE won the award for best documentary and Carlos Chahine took the prize for the Best Short Film for THE NORTH ROAD at Euro-Arab Film Festival AMAL in Spain at the end of October 2009.

*mec film is proud of the first cooperation with the cinematheque in Bogota/Columbia. The  MUESTRA DE CINE DEL MEDIO ORIENTE CONTEMPORÁNEO which shows several works of the mec film catalogue opens November 23rd .
