Their house lies on the border; the façade is under Israeli occupation, the Palestinian authority controls the back. At the entrance to the house a military post, on the roof the Israeli army has placed a watch point over Palestinian Hebron. Three women, trapped in the middle, constantly surrounded by Israeli soldiers, carry on their difficult lives in a perverse situation: the occupation becomes a routine, the absurd becomes a given. This is the story of an occupation that extends to the staircase and the roof of the house, where it encounters poverty, loneliness, pain, but also the small joys of everyday life. More information about the projects here. mec film is represented in Dubai by Irit Neidhardt from December 12th till 16th. ---------------------------- 3. new Distributor for LIKE TWENTY IMPOSSIBLES in Australia, DIARY OF A MALE WHORE on a DVD Compilation in France We are happy to announce that Ayman Ouda from the Palestinian Film Festival Victoria/Australia took the distribution rights of Annemarie Jacir's LIKE TWENTY IMPOSSIBLES for Australia. Les Films de L'Ange in Paris acquired the rights of Tawfik Abu Wael's DIARY OF A MALE WHORE for a DVD compilation with Arab gay films. ----------------------------- 4. PROMISES for school screenings in the federal state of Berlin Award winning documentary PROMISES by BZ Goldberg, Justine Shapiro and Carlos Bolado (2001) will be presented at special school screenings in Berlin later this months. Governmental educational institute Vision Kino is editing special educational material for the films. We are proud that this first theatrical release of mec film in Germany still has a live.
